So anyone who’s seen my Spotify might think, “Wow, you have a very eclectic ear when it comes to music you like.” But it’s really just, “No, I share it with my kids.” So there you go. It’s a mix of 90s alternative music and then we throw Taylor Swift or we throw in Olivia Rodrigo. And so it’s funny to see how she turns my Spotify wrapped list. It’s so funny, because I share my Spotify account with my oldest child, and so our music tastes are clearly different. It takes collections of music from various artists that you really liked that year and puts it all together in a nice playlist. So another thing that happens is that Spotify will put together playlists of your top songs from 2021 and then do the same thing with your artists. You can access some of this stuff in the browser, but it’s mostly playlists. And this story is only available in the app. So it takes everything you’ve heard in the last year and attaches it to these different moods, to understand where your head is in terms of your music listening for the year. There is also one called Audio Aura and what it does is it displays this colorful scene and it depends on the mood of your music.

It’s the song that will be played during the scene.” There was one, where it says, “Here’s a song to play if someone says your love in the rain.” So take moments of this funny movie and set them up for a song you really enjoyed on Spotify that year. And you can take it from your playlist or the song you streamed the most and say, “This is the title track of the movie. There’s a feature called 2021: The Movie that basically says what it does, if you make a movie about yourself in 2021, it’s the soundtrack. Another thing you can do is they try to take the data you have collected through your listening and present it to you in some creative and fun way. And with stories, you can share any slide at any time and they’ve even made a few different slides, which we’ll talk about in a second. The sharing part, they’ve added these new cards that are basically easy to share with anyone. There are a couple new wrinkles this year. So if you want to share your top artists with other people on social media, or through text, listening minutes, whatever you want to share, you can share that kind of stuff.
Once the story is over, you’ll get to the end of this story and you’ll be able to share these lists. And it shows you information like minutes of streaming songs and then it gets you your top five artists this year and your top five songs this year. When you click on the wrapping feature, it actually has a story and it moves like a Snapchat or Instagram story you see on social media. And you can also see some content on the web. This is a feature available in the Spotify app for iOS and Android. And what it does do is look back at the artists you streamed the most, the songs you streamed the most and the podcasts you enjoyed the most. You go to the app and when you go to the app, you see this big section for Spotify Wrapped. If you’ve never used Spotify before or you signed up for it a few months ago and you don’t know what Spotify Wrapped is, that’s what it looks like. I wrote about this in a story you can read at. On Wednesday, Spotify introduced Spotify Wrapped. This is a quick look at the top songs you streamed on the service and the top artists you streamed through the platform. If you’re a subscriber to Spotify, the cool feature they bring out every year at the end of the year is Spotify Wrapped.
